Types of Treatment

I offer the following treatment options, depending on age & presenting concerns.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Overview: CBT is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that helps children understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The therapist works with the child to identify and reframe negative or unhelpful thoughts that lead to problematic behaviors.

  1. Best for: Anxiety, depression, phobias, and behavior disorders.

  2. Techniques: Role-playing, thought diaries, and problem-solving exercises.

Solutions Focused Therapy

Overview: goal-oriented, future-focused therapeutic approach that emphasizes finding practical solutions to a client's problems rather than delving into past experiences or analyzing the root causes of issues. SFT encourages clients to envision a preferred future and leverages their existing strengths and resources to achieve their goals.

  1. Best for: Stress, anxiety, ADHD, and emotional regulation issues.

  2. Techniques: Focus on solutions and not problems, setting small obtainable goals

Play Therapy

Overview: Play therapy allows children to express themselves, process emotions, and communicate their experiences through play, which is their natural mode of expression. The therapist observes the child’s play behavior to understand underlying issues.

  1. Best for: Trauma, abuse, social challenges, and behavioral problems.

  2. Techniques: Free play, sand tray therapy, drawing, and use of figurines or dolls to enact stories.

Mindfulness Based Therapy

Overview: Mindfulness therapy teaches children to be present, aware of their emotions, and to manage stress through relaxation techniques. It helps children with emotional regulation and improving their focus.

  1. Best for: Stress, anxiety, ADHD, and emotional regulation issues.

  2. Techniques: Breathing exercises, guided imagery, and body scans.

Family Therapy

Overview: Family therapy involves working with the entire family to address dynamics that may be contributing to the child’s issues. The goal is to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen the family support system.

  1. Best for: Family conflict, behavioral issues, and relational difficulties.

  2. Techniques: Family discussions, role-reversal activities, and problem-solving tasks.

Empowering young hearts to bloom, because every child deserves to be heard and understood.
